Israeli warplanes have carried out dozens of airstrikes on the besieged Gaza Strip, leaving over a dozen Palestinians wounded.

According to Palestinian authorities, Israel bombed more than 30 targets before dawn on Tuesday. A house of a member of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas was among the targets.

Israeli warplanes also targeted Gaza International Airport in Rafah on Monday evening.

In a statement, Hamas denounced the Tel Aviv regime’s bombing of houses in the blockaded sliver as “exceeding all red lines” and threatened to increase the range of the rockets it fires at Israel. “We will respond by broadening the range of our targets.”

Media reports said that Hamas fired a total of 80 rockets into Israel on Monday following the deaths of seven Hamas members by Israel. Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, claimed responsibility for the rocket fire.

Eelier on Monday, Hamas announced that seven of its members had been killed in Israeli airstrikes on the besieged Gaza Strip, saying that the Tel Aviv regime will “pay the price.”

Israel has called up several hundred reserve troopers in anticipation of a possible escalation of the situation.

Tensions heightened between Palestinians and Israelis after the burning alive of a Palestinian teen in East al-Quds last week. The 16-year-old teenager, Mohammed Abu Khdeir, was bundled into a car and later burnt to death by Israeli settlers. Israel has arrested six settlers in connection with the murder, who have reportedly confessed to their crime.

Abu Khdeir’s death came after Israel buried three settlers, whose bodies were found in a field near the village of Hilhul, north of the West Bank city of al-Khalil (Hebron). Tel Aviv claims Hamas is responsible for the death of the three. However, Hamas rejects the allegation.
