With the dominance of the airwaves and satellite towers by the pro-western imperialist point of view and ideological orientation, programs such as the Pan-African Journal and the Pan-African News Wire electronic press agency take on added significance.

In regard to developments on the African continent and throughout the Diaspora these efforts become even more crucial. Today with the growing interventions of the United States and NATO in Africa a counter-narrative opposing the pro-imperialist propaganda justifying these policies are essential.

The battle of ideas in the realm of African historical analysis and contemporary political economy is manifested in the work of the Pan-African News Wire. This ideological challenge can only gain resonance if it speaks directly to the concrete conditions prevailing throughout the international scene.

This program includes the regular Pan-African News Wire reports addressing some of the most pressing and burning issues of the day. In addition, we continue our tribute to soul legend Bobby Womack who made his transition on June 27.
