Republic of Namibia: Minsozi is Miss SPYL

WINDHOEK-Minsozi Kompeli (22) from the Zambezi region has been crowned Miss Swapo Party Youth League (SPYL) with Patricia Hanstein as  first princess and Ricardine Katuuo as second princess.

Lovey Kuzatjike was judged  Miss Personality during the first ever Miss SPYL beauty pageant on Saturday at Nampower Convention Centre in the City. The event saw seven young girls competing against one aother for the title of SPYL under the theme ‘Evolution of Beauty’.Minsozi who is now the ambassador of the SPYL, says winning the competition is a very big opportunity for her to shine and teach fellow youths what she knows. She adds that she feels honoured and excited at the same time, for the recognition.

The main aim of the pageants was to mobilise young girls to collectively open up to women social issues. The winners and two runner-ups would however embark on different social projects initiated by the SPYLfrom now on.It was a night to remember filled with a host of entertainment activities, featuring, among others, The Dogg, FTS, Kamasutra, Bejamen from Dillimani Cultural Troupe and Max the Don.
