The Niger state governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abubakar Sani Bello and that of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Umar Mohammed Nasko have hailed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The APC candidate, who spoke yesterday after voting in Kontagora, said despite manipulation and intimidation, he was sure of victory at the end of the election.

“For me and my party, the APC, we are very positive about this election. If the election is free and fair and with the support of Almighty Allah, we shall succeed,” Bello said.

The PDP candidate Nasko said he was ready to abide by the outcome of the election since the election was primarily for the good of the state.

He said: “Win or lose, I will abide by the outcome of the election. Mind you, we are all Nigerians and we are partners in the development of our state and in whatever way it goes, win or lose, I believe we can forge a common interest for our state and we can forge ahead which ever way it goes.”

“I am impressed by the exercise. It is straight forward, transparent and less stressful than the last exercise, at least in the area of time spent on accreditation,” Nasko said
