PANAMA.— Groups of Panamanians foiled an attempted provocation organized by Félix Rodríguez Mendigutía, the terrorist responsible for the identification and murder of Che, who was due to present himself in a nearby park to the Cuban Embassy in Panama, supposedly to lay flowers at a bust of José Martí.

As soon as the news broke, Panamanian trade unionists and members of social networks participating in the People's Summit in the Panamanian capital, gathered at the Belisario Porras Park, outside the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy, where there is indeed a bust of José Martí and another of Antonio Maceo, according to the Cubadebate website.

According to passersby, Havana City Historian, Eusebio Leal, improvised a moving speech in which he recalled “The Protest of Baraguá”, in response to this disgrace.
